The best thing about Flagstaff could be it's close vicinity to us! A get away without too much time wasted in the car!
Matthew and I came to stay the night at the Monte Vista for our fourth wedding anniversary.
Luckily, it was also Flagstaff's First Friday Art Walk.
This was super cool because you can go into all the shops in the evening instead of trying to fit them all in the next day.
Also, I must say, I was quite impressed with the crowds, the food at all the galleries, the music and the camaraderie of galleries and shops alike.
Even the local bead store had wonderful live music and quite the spread.
We went to Brandy's for breakfast mainly for me to check out more artwork by Shonto Begay,which was wonderful but hard to see amongst the breakfast rush.
Mattthew and I both used to live in Flagstaff so we cruised our old hoods and made a long stop over at Bookman's. Getting out of town , no matter how close or far, helps our perspective.
And how about that rain on Saturday! Who-hoo!!!
Flagstaff is perfectly lovely...especially when you're not living there anymore, and you can enjoy the vacationess of it all! Happy Anniversary...I can't believe it' been 4 years...
