White knuckle Determination

Adios February, Hello March!!!! I don't know about ya'll but I am So ready for March...not so many birthdays (not One, compared to the 14 in February), new beginnings,... green beer!!! My arms are open wide in readiness to start off the month with good intentions. Good work and exciting developments are at hand.

I got my studio cleaned and organized and in the process realized (again) that I have so many amazing projects to get on with! So much good stuff. So that is my plan today and I can show you new work in a day or two.

The White Knuckle Determination refers to this article on etsy in a series about quitting your dayjob. Surly, the artist, talks about her "white knuckled determination" to make her venture happen. And it did. I am borrowing this slogan for now, and practicing it of course.

Now what day is this????

Good grief, so it's been a week since I last wrote and I'll tell ya- not much to show for that week! HA! I 'm not sure if I'm being lazy, I'm stressed out, I'm paralyzed....but somethings been, you know, ..... not quite right. However, I am fairly sick of the rut and/or doldrum or whatever I've been in, so starting with this post and my new Etsy listing from my shop, I am getting back on track. Seriously.

Goal of the week you ask???? Here it is " Get.Act.Together.For Reals.Seriously.Without a doubt.Totally." Okay you get the point. So there have been some highlights, some creativity, some getting ass off the couch-ness:

My parents came over and helped us prune our fruit trees!! Yeah! ( i won't mention here how the only way i seem to get any plant oriented stuff happening is when my mom is present)

I have some new pieces done- just need the wooden frames courtesy of Matt Dean.
And I believe I'll have perhaps something great and upbeat and inspiring for you next time. Which won't be a week away!!

And I almost forgot that Sadie tagged me to show my

6th picture from my 6th folder of pictures. I'm also supposed to tag 5 others, but don't have that many blogger friends yet! Here it is:

Going Home Coming Home

After living in Tucson for seven years I moved back to Prescott and have been living here for four years. Going to visit Tucson is like going home to a very specific part of myself that perhaps can only exist in Tucson. Another dimension! I got to see lots of friends, cactus, burritos, art, Tecates, aloe, agave and BEADS!! (no pictures of beads yet!)

All of my friends are involved in amazing things, awesome enterprises and new directions. I am very proud of them and miss them in my daily life.

Jen's( my amazing host!) backyard oasis- Go green thumb go!!!

My friend Albert who works at the Eric Firestone Gallery in Downtown Tucson and who is an amazing artist himself.

My friends Zora and Kate!!!

My friends Jay Dawg, Carne Casados and Titus

Happy Birthday Morgan!

So much to say, goals of the week to make, pumping iron to go to, jewelry to make........why do i just want to take a nap?

Matthew, Emma and Miky!

Thanks for everyone to take time to see me and thanks Casados for hosting a party for me, carting me around, and general awesomeness.
I heart Tucson!

May you light a billion candles with your mind.

I am headed to Tucson tomorrow! I am fairly bewildered today by the snow, not getting out of the house and going to work, going to the bank, etc. It is taking me forever to get anything done around here- what's that about? I am super excited to see all my people and go to the gem show. I won't be blogging while away, but rest assured I'll have much to say and lots of pictures to show you when I return. The title of today's post is from my Rob Brezny horoscope from this evening. A fitting send off for my little road trip. Be well and Happy Valentine's Day!!

Success....

My nephew just finished bootcamp for the Coast Guard and we've all been talking about the change we can already see in his appearance, what we can hear in his voice, a difference in how he carries himself. Confident surely, but it seems something else is at work- Success. Someone that feels the path they are on is in fact the Right Path, not some haphazard trailblazing of earlier ventures. I have felt for many years that I have known what I wanted, what I wanted to be like- sure of what and who I am. But Successful? It is hard to stay strong and look adversity in the face and say, Yes, I am up for the task.

"Well you know Art is why I get up in the morning, but my definition ends there, you know it doesn't seem fair that I'm living for something I can't even define....."
Ani DiFranco

Congratulations Eric! We are proud of you and also thank you for reminding us about change and passion.

Go Blog Go

So the goal of the week-? Remember? It's accomplished, and super fun and perhaps a whole new way of working! Wood burning here I come! The motivational aspect of this blogging thing is working out! Click on the image to see it larger.

I went to Jerome today- another gorgeous day and Raina and I went to see our friend Patrick Lincoln's new gallery. It is every artists dream to have their own gallery and I wish Patrick all the luck in the world! If you are in Jerome check out the new space right at the beginning of town on the left side down the stairs form Raspberry's. I am also going to try to go to Sid Freeman's opening here in town tomorrow at the Framer's Market at the depot marketplace. The opening is from 3-6 p.m. if you want to stop by!

Ongoing Efforts

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): I've got three questions for you, Scorpio.
First, where will you go next to satisfy that special need of yours -- you
know, the need that demands ever-fresh varieties of fuel? Second, who
will you enlist in your ongoing efforts to change your environment so that
it's more compatible with your drives? And third, what helpful influences
will you seek to attract into your sphere as you upgrade and refine your
ambitions? The coming weeks will be a good time to cultivate your web of
alliances as you address these questions.

Asking for It

What I want, that is. Yesterday was not only the huge Superbowl and Donna Ray's bday but also (according to We'Moon) it was our day to Create Our Intentions for the year. I did this and will continue to ask for what I want. It's good practice, at least it allows you the space to figure out what it IS and not what it ISN'T.

Also, as promised in the last post, I am starting the Goal of the Week...
This week's goal is "To try out my new wood burner and see what that's all about."
Starting small is good!

I finished "The Fool's Progress", so now I'm debating on reading another Edward Abbey book- or going in a new direction.
