New Work

   "My Aim is True"

"Putting Back the Bones"

"Mountains of the Mind"

"People, Houses, Burials, Shrines"
Well, I see it's been over a month since I've posted.  All is well and I wanted to share some recent work that I made for a printmaking show.  Three of the pieces were inspired by sentences/titles from the Craig Childs book I mentioned in an earlier post.  Lately I have been working where I start with a small print and use additive drawing and painting.  Let me know any thoughts or feedback.

Beet fest, Equinox and the Garden

Wanted to post some photos of how the garden grew and some harvesting pics.  The beets were involved!  Pull the beets, wash the beets, wash the beet greens, peel the beets, roast the beets!!

Stealing a bath before the beets!
 Edythe helped me a "bunch"!

Separating greens from beet.

Gemlike beets!
See a few posts back for this same vantage point, but just planted!

Hidden wonders.

Ceremonial cutting.

Equinox offerings.

All in all we loved growing pumpkins, and I love the beautiful red corn, but the worms got to it..gross!!  Hope your end of summer and welcoming fall is going great!!

Rain, elusive and addictive

These last pictures are of Chaco Canyon.  I have just started another amazing Craig Childs book "House of Rain" about the Anasazi.  Pretty wonderful!

Maurice

Wow, I just finished reading Maurice by E.M. Forster in two days..what a feversih love story!!
I have seen the movie of course and am a big Forster fan, but must never had read this one.  I came upon a nice copy with thick watercolor-esque paper that felt lovely to hold.
The main thing I did not know and maybe you don't know either, is that Maurice was published posthumously....sixty years after he wrote it!!  Can you imagine?  One piece I read quoted him saying that it was the happy ending that proved illegal..if these young men would've hung themselves, the world could've read Maurice 60 years earlier...
Of course as I was reading I was remembering Hugh Grant who looks amazing, but Rupert Graves..le sigh!!  Must see more of him, even if it has been twenty years. He is kindof giving me a Keifer Sutherland vibe.   Anyone have any suggestions?
